Where We Surf
Due to the intense academic workload during term time, members generally surf on the weekends. Depending on the wave forecast, groups will drive 6 hours west toward Newquay, Cornwall and stay for the weekend - leaving on Friday afternoon and returning to Cambridge on Sunday night. Using Newquay as a base members surf the surrounding coastline, heading as far south as St. Ives. Other West Coast trips include Devon.
We will also be running weekend day trips to Cromer/East Runton where a rock reef just off a sand beach pushes up barrelling waves with the right conditions
Once term time is over, a 7-10 day trip abroad is usually planned. Since 2006, CUSA has organised trips to Spain, France, Portugal, and Morocco. As some members live or holiday in ideal surf locations there are plenty of unofficial surf trips where CUSA members meet up casually within the UK or abroad in places like Costa Rica, Nova Scotia and Indonesia.
